COMIC CON... AN EVENT, A CULTURE

There are many cultures throughout the US, but none more diverse than the culture around Comic Con. Whether into anime, Star Trek, video games, aliens or gremlins, Comic Con is an all inclusive culture. Even newer tv shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Lost Girl, Doctor Who, True Blood, among others are represented at Comic Con by fans and enthusiasts.

 

People wait all year for this one event where they can dress up as their favorite characters, partner up with their best friends and make many new ones. As this being my first visit to a Comic Con, NYCCC offered a great insight into the camaraderie that exists in this cultural event.

 

Leading up to Comic Con, I must’ve encountered over 20 people talking about how excited they are to be attending Comic Con. Afterwards, I heard as many talk about what a great time they had. Whether you are a video gamer, a comic book enthusiast, into anime, fantasy, card games, or anything, this is place where you can find thousands of others like you.
